Our Mission

Jolinda Babcock founded Tarheel Mediations with the goal of providing excellent service in all aspects of the mediation process. You already know that mediation is an important part of your case. At Tarheel Mediations we strive to make your mediation efficient and productive for the attorneys and their clients. We make it our job to get to know you, your case and your clients.

Experience Matters

Jolinda has focused her 35 year legal career on workers’ compensation claims. As an attorney, she handled hundreds of cases before the North Carolina Industrial Commission and participated in hundreds of mediations. In 2003, she changed her focus by becoming certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission to mediate Superior Court matters and beginning her practice of mediating workers’ compensation claims. Jolinda has since acted as mediator in thousands of workers’ compensation cases. She is keenly aware that in many situations, mediation is the most crucial aspect of a claim, offering attorneys and their clients the opportunity to present their case to the other side and work towards a resolution acceptable to all involved. As a neutral mediator, Jolinda uses her years of trial knowledge and mediation experience to work with both parties towards a mutually satisfactory outcome.

Full Service Mediation

Tarheel Mediations assists you with all steps of the mediation process. Jolinda’s scheduling coordinator, Pat Priddy, works with you to quickly provide dates for the settlement conference, contacting you and your staff through e-mail and/or phone until a date is confirmed. We send confirmation letters and proposed Orders for extensions of time to mediate to you and the North Carolina Industrial Commission and then follow-up to confirm mediations before they occur. At the settlement conference, Jolinda utilizes her years of experience to ensure that everyone is heard, that all aspects of the case are considered and all settlement possibilities are explored. After mediation, we promptly report to the Commission and, as necessary, again work with you if further discussions or conferences are needed.
